What prestige is, what it is for and why it is still going to change.

What it is
Prestige is a closed cycle: you run the path to its end, hand back the progress it asks for and start again from the starting point, keeping the mark of that run. It exists to give a continuation to whoever has already reached the end of the path and has nowhere left to climb there.
How I do it
Before you startHaving reached the end of the path Prestige opens at the end of the path, not before. Until then the option stays closed and does nothing.required
How the run works:
- Close the current runRunning the path to its end is what opens prestige. While the path is unfinished, there is no run to close.Post → Prestige
- Hand back what the run asks forStarting over is not free: the cycle consumes the very progress it required to get there. Anyone unwilling to give that progress back does not have to enter.
- Start again from the starting pointAfter the handover, the path returns to the beginning and you run it again, now with the mark of the previous run recorded on the account.
- Repeat the runThe cycle is built to be repeated. Every closed run stays recorded; the path itself remains the same.
In development
What is missing: exactly what the run consumes, what it gives back and where in the game it opens — the beta rework still has to settle that.
What already holds: the shape: a cycle that closes, hands the progress back and starts again from the starting point, leaving the mark of the run.
